Beautiful piece.

I can attest to my own experience. The first time I did psilocybin— 2g— I had a full blown mystical experience that would go on to change the entire course of my life forever.

I did it with one of my best friends. It’s fascinating to see how we went on the same trip but came out of it over 5 years later living almost the complete opposite lives.

There’s interesting work in religious studies now criticizing the limits of the MEQ-30 because of how it’s based on an incomplete and perennial philosophy of spirituality. Pankhe was really into vedanta / non-dual / eastern spiritual philosophy but didn’t consider the many other traditions and thus forms / types of mystical experience documented through time.

While I’m also more into eastern spiritual philosophies I think its interesting to question whether defining mystical experience so narrowly is good or not.

Curious what you think about that.

Nice work 🙏
